Congressman Andy Kim Wins Big At Monmouth County Convention
Congressman Kim stands by his call for an ‘office block’ fair ballot statewide
LONG BRANCH N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim delivered a massive victory in the state’s first ‘county line contest’ at the Monmouth County Convention over First Lady Tammy Murphy by a margin of 265-181, proving his campaign’s organizational strength and grassroots power. Results came after Monmouth County held a rare ‘open convention’, where more than 450 delegates voted via secret ballot, deciding between all Democratic primary candidates declared for U.S. Senate. He now looks to continue this momentum in his home county of Burlington, which will be the next convention of the cycle.
“The results here today represent what we’re seeing throughout our state; we are building a movement for change in New Jersey and that movement cannot be stopped,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “This was the First Lady’s home county; winning by such a significant margin shows that Democrats are demanding someone they can trust and someone with proven experience. We’re going to keep fighting in every county for every vote and to make sure we restore integrity.”
