Congressman Andy Kim Receives Backing from The Long Run PAC, Aimed at Lifting Up a New Generation of Leaders

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced the endorsement from former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes’ PAC, “The Long Run”. Founded to support diverse and groundbreaking pro-democracy candidates around the country, help flip critical swing districts, and bring more working-class voices to the table, Lt Governor Barnes' mission is to make sure these candidates have that support throughout their ‘long run’, ensuring their final sprint is a sprint to win because, “winning a race depends on what you’ve put into it from the start.” These include young candidates, candidates of color, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates from working-class backgrounds who are breaking the mold of what leadership looks like.

“As a candidate working every day to redefine New Jersey politics and someone who would be the 4th youngest Senator if elected, I am humbled to have received support from an organization that is playing a critical role in investing in the next generation of leadership and redefining what a leader can look like,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “I look forward to ‘running’ into the June 4th Primary with The Long Run as my partner to mobilize and inspire young voters and communities of color here in New Jersey to ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box.”

"Now more than ever we need a new generation of leadership in the U.S. Senate that can boldly take on the challenges working people are facing every day. I'm proud to endorse Andy Kim because he embodies that leadership,” said former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor and Founder of The Long Run PAC Mandela Barnes. “He's broken new ground by being the first AAPI federally elected official from New Jersey, and I know his grassroots movement can help make him the first AAPI Senator from the entire East Coast of our country. He's put in the work, he's proven he can deliver, and he deserves our support."

First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, going on to vote to impeach Trump twice throughout his presidency. In 2022, Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Andy has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
